Westerland ist das Herzstück der Insel Sylt und mit rund 9.000 Einwohnern der größte Ort und zugleich das touristische Zentrum der Insel. Als traditionsreiches Nordseeheilbad bietet Westerland seit über 150 Jahren eine gelungene Kombination aus Erholung, Natur und Unterhaltung. Die knapp sechs Kilometer lange Strandpromenade lädt zum Flanieren ein, gesäumt von Restaurants und Cafés mit Blick auf die Nordsee.

Der weitläufige Sandstrand mit seinen typischen Strandkörben ist ideal für Sonnenanbeter, Familien und Wassersportler. Im Erlebnisbad Sylter Welle mit Meerwasserbecken, Saunalandschaft und Rutschen kommen auch Wellnessfans auf ihre Kosten.

Ein Highlight für Musik- und Kulturinteressierte ist der Musikmuschel-Pavillon an der Promenade, wo in den Sommermonaten regelmäßig Kurkonzerte stattfinden. Zudem bietet das Sylt Aquarium spannende Einblicke in die Unterwasserwelt der Nordsee.

Die zentrale Lage macht Westerland zum idealen Ausgangspunkt für Erkundungen auf der Insel.

Die Drehorte in Westerland im Einzelnen

Obwohl Westerland sehr zentral auf Sylt liegt, wird die Stadt überraschend selten als Drehort genutzt. Doch wenn hier gedreht wird, dann an markanten, sofort wiedererkennbaren Orten: Allen voran die Promenade, der Strandübergang beim Miramar und das Miramar selbst. Auch der Bahnhof – der heimliche Spitzenreiter unter den Westerländer Drehorten – taucht regelmäßig in Filmszenen auf. Typisch für Westerland sind zudem Aufnahmen vor Ferienapartmenthäusern, kleineren Unterkünften und dem Rathaus. Und natürlich dürfen Strand und Strandübergänge nicht fehlen – mit dem Beach House und der Strandoase sind sogar zwei beliebte Restaurants mit traumhaftem Blick auf Meer und Wellen vertreten. Besonders interessant: Zwei ehemalige Unterkünfte der „Ermittler“ Sievers und Feldmann liegen ebenfalls in Westerland. Eine davon gilt mittlerweile als „Lost Place“, die andere ist aktuell geschlossen. Paul hofft, dass sich die Übersicht der Drehorte bald erweitert – denn in Westerland steckt noch jede Menge filmreifes Potenzial.

Sylter Welle

Lust auf einen kleinen Ausflug ins Schwimmbad? Die Sylter Welle ist Drehort in Episode 6.

Schwimmen am bewachten Strand

Das Rettungs-schwimmerhäuschen am Strandabschnitt 4.90 bei Dikjen Deel war Drehort in Episode 3.

Etwas zentraler liegt der Strandabschnitt unterhalb der Himmelsleiter, der in Episode 26 zum Drehort wurde.

Surfschule Westerland

Lust auf einen Surfkurs? Das Duotone Pro Center/Surfschule Westerland an der Promenade auf Höhe der Brandenburgerstr. war Drehort in Episode 7 und 12.

Restaurant

Irish Pub

Der Irish Pub in der Paulstr. 11 war Kulisse für Szenen in Episode 6.

Strandoase

Die Strandoase war bisher bereits in vier Folgen als Drehort zu sehen. In Episode 4 ist sie sogar quasi der Hauptdrehort der gesamten Folge und in Episode 3 und 8 in einzelne Szenen zu sehen. Dabei wurde auch das gesamte Gelände genutzt, von den beiden Parkplätzen über den Steg und den Strandübergang. In Episode 5 kann man den Steg z.B. gut als Luftaufnahme erkennen.

Luzifer

Das Luzifer war bisher zwar eher von der Terasse zu erkennen, dafür aber umso geheimnisvoller mit der versteckten Tür als Abgang zum „Boxclub“ aus Episode 7.

Beach House

Das „Beach House“ am Strand war gut als Drehort in der Episode 15 zu erkennen, als Ina und Sievers dort gemeinsam ein Getränk zu sich nahmen.

"Lost Places"

Haus/Wohnung im Gaadt

Die erste Wohnung von Feldmann aus Episode 1 im Gaadt/Ecke Fischerweg ist ein sog. Lost Place. Das ehemalige Haus wurde abgerissen und dort ein neues Wohnhaus errichtet.

Praktisches

Sylter Wohnwelt

Wer ein paar Möbel oder Dekoartikel benötigt wird sicherlich in der Sylter Wohnwelt in der Norderstraße 24, dem Drehort des Bettenladens“ aus Folge 16, fündig.

C&A Sylt

Wer sich über Ferienwohnungen und Ferienhäuser nformieren will kann bei C&A Sylt in der Boysenstraße 14 vorbeischauen und dabei gleich an die Szenen aus Folge 8 denken.

Bahnhof Westerland

Der Bahnhof in Westerland wurde sowohl vom Vorplatz, über die Bahnsteige bis hin zur Autoverladestation für den Autozug in unzähligen Folgen zum Drehort und kann damit zu einem der Hauptdrehorte Westerlands gezählt werden: So z.B. in Episode 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 15 und 23.

Nordseeklinik

Die Nordseeklinik war der Hauptdrehort in Episode 17 als Hinnerk mit gebrochenem Bein versucht bei den Ermittlungen zu unterstützen. Auch in Folge 19 wurden ein paar Szenen an der Nordseeklinik gedreht. Diesmal aber von außen.

Straßen

Auch in den Straßen Westerlands wurden einige Szenen gedreht:

In der Käptn Christiansen Str. verfolgt Hinnerk einen Täter zu Fuß bis hin zum Parkplatz kurz vor dem Strandübergang (Folge 8)
In Folge 26 brausen Hinnerk und Ina die Dr. Nicolas Straße entlang bis in die Andreas Dirks Straße
Die Friedrichstraße und die Strandstraße sind bisher überwiegend bei Zwischenszenen aus der Luft zu erkennen.

In den Straßen liegen auch einige Drehorte in Privathäusern. Es lohnt sich also immer die Augen offen zu halten, ob man etwas wieder erkennt.

Unterkünfte

Haus Quisisana

Das Haus Quisisana in der Brandenburger Str. 11 war Drehort für Befragungsszenen in Episode 12.

Haus Brandenburg

Das Ferienwohnungshaus Brandenburg in der Brandenburger Str. 9 wurde ebenfalls in Episode 12 als Drehkulisse genutzt.

Marita Logierhaus (ehemals Haus Braunschweig)

Maritas Logierhaus, das ehemalige Haus Braunschweig in der Johann-Möller-Str. 38 wurde vor allem als Drehort von Sievers erster Unterkunft in den Episode 9 & 11 genutzt. In Episode 22 war es dann erneut zu sehen.

Hinweis: Maritas Logierhaus ist derzeit auch geschlossen, mal sehen, wie es damit weitergeht.

Käptn Christiansen Haus

Das Käptn Christiansen Haus in der – wer hätte es gedacht – Käptn Christiansen Str. 30 wurde in Episode 22 am Rande sozusagen zu einem Drehort.

Haus Undine

Das Appartmenthaus Undine in der Norderstr. 31 wurde in Folge 16 zum Drehort.

Haus am Meer

Das Haus am Meer mit seinen Ferienappartments in der Andreas Dirks Str. 12-14 wurde als Drehort für den Sylter Sozialwohnungsbau in Episode 5 in Szene gesetzt.

Hotel Miramar

Im Hotel Miramar in der Friedrichstraße 43 wurden in Episode 2 Szenen sowohl im Innenbereich als auch äußert waghalsige Szenen der Fassadenklettererin gedreht. In Folge 14 wurden hier Innenszenen und auf der Terasse gedreht.

Hotel Monbijou

Das Hotel Monbijou in der Andreas Dirks Str. 6 ist auch eher im Hintergrund von gedrehten Szenen in Episode 6 und 13 zu sehen.

Wyn Strandhotel Sylt

Das Wyn Strandhotel wurde in Folge 18 zu einem sehr flüchtigen Drehort. Da ist aber auch bei Folmaufnahmen mit der Drohnen immer mal wieder kurz zu sehen ist, soll es hier trotzdem erwähnt werden.

Hotel Niedersachsen

Das Hotel Niedersachsen in der Magarethenstraße 5 wurde in Episode 12 zum Drehort.

Attraktionen

Rathaus

Auch das Rathaus Westerland stand als „Drehpate“ mit Einblicken sowohl innen als auch außen in Episode 7 und in Episode 16 noch einmal zur Verfügung.

Strandübergang Friedrichstraße

In Episode 2 und 8 wurde an einem der imposantesten Strandübergänge gedreht. Hier hat man einen guten Blick auf das Meer und die Promenade.

Strandübergang Himmelsleiter

In Folge 26 wird eines der Wahrzeichen des Westerländer Strandes, die sog. „Himmelsleiter“ schön in Szene gesetzt.

Strandpromenade

Die lange Promenade Westerland war auch immer mal wieder Drehort: so z.B. in Folge 13. Dabei wurden auch weitere Strandübergänge szenisch erfasst, wie z.B. auf Höhe Brandenburger Straße in Folge 13 und des Übergangs beim Restaurants Badezeit in Episode 18.

Mit Paul "on Tour" bei Komoot!

Pauls Komoot-Tour – diesmal wieder zu Fuß – beginnt am Parkplatz Brandenburger Straße und führt an bekannten Drehorten entlang durch die Stadt, zum Strand und in die Dünen. Wer die Tour noch etwas erweitern möchte oder mit dem Fahrrad unterwegs ist, der kann auf der nördlichen Seite noch die Nordseeklinik besuchen und auf der südlichen Seite bis zur Strandoase und Dikjen Deel fahren.
